Cutting an Onion

 

 

Cutting an onion properly is very easy but a great skill to learn.  I highly recommend you learn to do it and do it well.

Ingredients

1 onion

1 knife

1 cutting board

Technique

Find the root end of the onion and cut the onion in half through the root end.remove the first layer of the onion and discard.

Lay the onion flat on a board with the root end facing away from you, and place your hand on top. Make a cut halfway through the onion but do not cut through the root end.

Now, start cutting vertically through the onion.  Again, do not cut through the root end.

Finally, start chopping down through the onion again, thus dicing the onion evenly.!

It is as easy as dicing onions!
